Thursday Trend Day! | Preston & Olivia Bridal Accessories and Couture Millinery

Photography by Trent Bailey Photography

Hello All!

Today is Thursday Trend Day and we are featuring what we think is one of the newest & hottest NYC brands out there, Preston & Olivia. I just love how founder Dara Kent-Cobb is able to create such lovely bridal accessories and unique couture millinery for the NYC lady!

Drawing on such diverse inspiration as her childhood in the South, Paris in the past and present, and New York street styles, Dara uses her fashion forward sensibilities and her Fashion Institute of Technology millinery training to design signature accessories for fashion connoisseurs.  Her pieces are beautiful enough to elevate an outfit, fresh enough to complement any look, and classic enough to be timeless components of a wardrobe.
In addition to her seasonal and bridal collections, Dara works in the tradition of a couture milliner to create custom hats and headpieces.  She firmly believes that “anyone can wear hats, as long as you find the styles that suit you.”  With an eye for color and a love of textures as varied as leather, fur, and lace, Dara handcrafts each piece with carefully selected materials and attention to the smallest details.
The most recent addition to the Preston & Olivia brand is a line of neckwear for the modern gentleman.  Combining southern charm and New York sophistication in the hallmark Preston & Olivia fashion, these bowties and ties provide the boost that takes even the simplest ensemble from ordinary to dashing.

Dara tells us, "I think that the pieces are very versatile and I could see any New York girl wearing them around town running errands, shopping with her friends, brunching in the village, or a dinner date with her partner. They're so fun and can make a simple outfit really pop. All you need is a good pair of jeans, some boots, a tee, and a basic blazer and you're set. My goal is to make my pieces Tailored, Relaxed, and Sophisticated. It's uptown meets downtown. It's classic design with a modern interpretation." LOVE that!
